Abstract
The resource pack is aimed at managers and development workers who are responsible for setting up a key worker service for families with a disabled child. It offers research- based advice on how to go about developing and implementing the service, plus warnings about potential pitfalls. Issues addressed include managing change, what the service should look like, how to support the service and facilitating a multi-agency steering group.
The pack takes the reader through the various phases involved in setting up a key worker service. For each phase, there are examples of activities and exercises which can assist planning and decision-making.
