Abstract

The statistical characteristics of re-radiated spectra of a simulated digital equipment-under-test under radio frequency interference in a reverberation chamber are studied. Statistical models of linear coupling and re- radiating channels in a reverberating environment together with nonlinearities of the equipment scattering properties are synthesized into an overall analytical model of the overall probability distribution. The fit between theoretical predictions and measurement results is verified. This technique allows tracking of the statistics of re-radiated spectra and comparison between results under different RF interference levels. It may be possible to utilize these statistics for new diagnostic tools based on reverberation test standards e.g. IEC 61000-4-21.
