Abstract
Organisations are having a difficult time competing as independent businesses due to uncertainties such as the covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, organisations operate in supply chains to help reduce risks such as the risk of disruption. Literature suggests increased resilience as the solution to disruptions and proposes Big Data as having a game changing effect on the performance of supply chains. This research utilises in-depth interviews of experts and computer simulations to improve the resilience of food supply chains to several disruptions. The research goes further to explore the role of Big Data in delivering improved resilience to food supply chains.
