Abstract
The carboxy carbons of neat liquid carboxylic acids display an anomalously large nuclear Overhauser Effect that is further enhanced by the addition of potassium fluoride which is capable of forming strong hydrogen bonds between the fluoride anion and the acid hydroxy group.
