Abstract

We present an efficient numerical model describing the Mode-Locking process of a vertical external cavity semiconductor laser with a saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). The effect of the laser and the SESAM on the mode-locked pulse is represented by complex operators including the effects of Dispersion, Self Phase Modulation, finesse, and finite absorber relaxation times.
