Abstract
Excited states of the La-125 and La-127 nuclei were populated following Sn-112(O-16,p2n) and Cd-112(F-19,4n) fusion-evaporation reactions, respectively, and investigated using methods of in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy. Five collective bands in La-125, and eleven collective bands in La-127 were observed. The spin and/or parity assignments of excited states in these nuclei were based on angular-correlation and linear-polarization measurements. The experimental data are discussed and compared to the results of self-consistent total-Routhian-surface calculations including quadrupole pairing.
