Abstract

Bright Star is an album of contemporary (20th and 21st century) Christmas carols, the majority of which have a Scottish connection, in being either written or arranged by composers who are Scottish or are based in Scotland. It includes music by Ben Parry, Ken Johnston, Malcolm Archer, Elizabeth Poston, Alan Bullard, and Kenneth Leighton (among others), as well as four compositions by finalists in Waverley Care’s International Christmas Carol Writing Competition, 2010.
