Abstract

This paper addresses the integration of in-memory design data representation and design databases. The consistency maintenance between both models is specifically emphasized, and a novel approach is proposed where the consistency control is factored out from the design tools and is impliemented as an object-oriented framework. Such approach simplifies tool design by increasing the abstraction of the database conceptual model and its consistency maintenance mechanisms.
