Abstract
This paper is presented by the partnership team of the Department of Education, University of York, UK and the northern office of the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), UK.
We discuss the early stages of work on a project funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation on learning through and for community and citizenship by discussing current thinking and practice in schools; exploring young people’s perceptions and practice; and, through the development of a focussed impact strategy encouraging partnerships to be established between professionals and others.
