Abstract

The shift to pull economies demands that designers think about less linear value models. The designers have to realize that the value of products and services mutate and evolve throughout their life span according to the shifts within value constellations. Value constellations allow designers to anticipate and respond to shifts, identify opportunities, and understand social practices. It has been observed that design studios across the world have used increasingly creative tactics to add value to the most common consumer products and the most interesting cultural material to achieve these objectives.
