Abstract

Effective e - learning, or learning by using technology appropriately in various contexts, should be viewed as a curriculum design issue and not just use of a set of
tools. Technologies are tools, not teachers.

Blended learning, combining online and face - to - face teaching, is the most common approach to incorporating e - learning in medical schools.

Using technologies effectively requires knowledge of how people learn, how to design interactions with the tools and how to evaluate best use given the desired learning outcomes.
