First evidence of the magnetic character of dipole transitions in the "oblate bands" of199Pb

Abstract

Internal conversion coefficients have been determined from online measurement of electron- and y- ray emission related to the dipole transitions in the so-called oblate collective bands in199Pb. The results strongly support the M1 (or M1+E2) character of these transitions.
