Abstract

"Footnotes" (the chapter) explores, interrogates, amplifies, and confuses the research, compositional, and performative history associated with _Footnotes_ (the album) and _Footnotes_ (the composition). In a text that veers between fantasy and fact, the three authors contribute to an intertextual trialogue that places the entire project in the context of the larger volume and its exploration of _subjectivity_ in musical performance.
