Abstract

The high resolution infrared emission spectrum of BeF2 was observed. The fundamental antisymmetric stretching mode nu-3 and numerous hot bands involving nu-1 and nu-2 were found near 1550 cm-1 by Fourier transform spectroscopy. Eight vibration-rotation bands were rotationally analyzed and the spectroscopic constants are reported. The equilibrium beryllium fluorine distance (r(e)) was found to be 1.372 9710(95) angstrom in BeF2.
