Abstract
The paper discusses two approaches to widening participation / ensuring fair access to higher education. One is to encourage students from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply to university by lowering their grade requirements. A second approach is to use a mix of ambassadors, workshops, conferences, bursaries, and so on.
