Abstract

Earlier research supported by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation identified difficulties and inadequacies in meeting the housing needs of disabled children and their families. That research also revealed the considerable impact unsuitable housing can have on the lives of disabled children, their siblings and their parents. In order to identify ways of moving on in terms of policy and practice, key practitioners from housing, social services and health authorities were invited to a series of 'roadshows' held around the UK.
