Abstract
A review essay - one of four - about the online video 'Kony 2012'. The essay draws on film theorist Bill Nichols' 'documentary modes' to examine the absence of an observational curiosity in a film which contains serious errors - for example, locating 'Kony's war' in the wrong country.
