Abstract

We describe models based on a multilayer topology for wireless multi-hop networks employing linear physical layer network coding, and accounting for the scheduling of transmission in such networks. We discuss algebraic frameworks for the network code mappings, and requirements for unambiguous decoding at the destination. With reference to some simple examples we show that a framework based on binary matrices gives improved performance over those based on rings.
