Abstract

This is the first extensive piece of research carried out in Northern Ireland on young people under 16 who run away or are forced to leave home. It gives a clear overall picture of the scale and extent of the issue, demonstrates the need to develop a better responses to this very vulnerable group and offers positive suggestions for change. The research was commissioned by Extern and The Children's Society and was carried out in partnership with the University of York - January 2001
