Abstract
A functional model for the accurate modelling of Ka-band solid state power amplifier (SSPA) nonlinearities was presented. The model consists of both amplitude-dependent phase distortion (AM/FM) characteristics and provides more accurate fit to measure transfer characteristics of Ka-band devices than existing power amplifier models. It was shown that the AM/PM of the amplifier also contributes to distortion of the transmitted signals.
