New technologies, new audiences: Addressing accessibility for older and disabled people in the museum of the 21st century

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

As we move into the 21st century with many new technologies emerging, museums have many different possibilities for engaging with their audiences, before, during and after or even instead of a visit to a museum. These developments may pose barriers to disabled audiences, bringing new audiences in contact with museums. This paper will outline the opportunities and pitfalls of using new technologies in museums for disabled audiences.
