Abstract
This paper describes new ultra compact high Q printed resonators using a standard 4-metal-layer PCB process. Both balanced (Q0 of 92, f0 of 2.578 GHz) and unbalanced (Q0 of 93, f0 of 2.769 GHz) resonators have been fabricated on printed circuit boards. The dimensions of the resonators are 4mm by 4mm by 1.4mm. A 2.6 GHz low noise feedback oscillator is designed using the new resonator. It demonstrates a phase noise of -102.54 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset as predicted.
