Abstract

This report explores how to promote positive and supportive relationships between older people with and without high support needs who are living in housing with care schemes.

Evidence has consistently shown that older people with high support needs, particularly those who have cognitive and sensory impairments, can be marginalised within housing with care schemes. The report identifies a
number of approaches which have demonstrated how housing with care can
be made more supportive and inclusive, either through initiatives driven by
provider organisations, by the efforts of residents themselves, or by external
organisations.
