Abstract

Gamma-rays emitted following the S-34+Ru-104 reaction have been studied using a preliminary version of the Eurogam array, containing 29 Ge detectors, in conjunction with the Daresbury recoil mass separator. Highly deformed bands in 133Nd (5n reaction channel), 135Nd (3n), and 131Ce (alpha3n) have been observed. No evidence has been found in mass-selected data for the band previously assigned to 134Nd (the dominant 4n channel in this reaction) which has 'identical' energies to the 131Ce band.
