Abstract

B(E2;2₁⁺ - o₁⁺) values have been measured for the unstable nuclei ⁸⁸Kr (N=52) and ⁹²Kr (N=56) using projectile Coulomb excitation at ISOLDE, CERN. With this experiment the local maximum in E(2₁⁺) in ⁹²Kr and the role of the N=56 subshell closure can be studied.
