Abstract

This document provides a summary of the social, economic and environmental challenges faced by small farmers in El Haouaria-Dar Allouche and suggests a set of recommendations for policy makers, actors and civil society actors on how to begin addressing them. This policy brief is based on research undertaken in 2015-16 and 2020-21 into social and environmental challenges for small farmers on the El Haouaria-Dar Allouche plain, Nabeul, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (UK), and whose outputs we are in the process of preparing. This work dealt with the social and environmental challenges of small farmers (small farmers and tenants) in El Haouaria-Dar Allouche in the governorate of Nabeul.
