Abstract
The ground state structure of Li-9 has been investigated through the d(Li-9, t)Li-8 one-neutron transfer reaction at E/A = 1.68 MeV. The Li-8 sub-system in 9Li was observed in its lowest three energy levels. The spectroscopic factors derived from a DWBA analysis are fairly consistent in trend with model calculations. The understanding of the N = 6 sub-shell closure from the spectroscopic information and neutron separation energies is discussed. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
