Abstract

This paper presents the preliminary results of the project on “Strategies towards achieving low carbon and high-value added from the economic sectors” being carried out in collaboration with a County Council in England between February and September 2022. A mixed methods methodology is applied, which consists of semi-structured interviews and a survey questionnaire. Senior Managers of organisations from different sectors with sustainability-related knowledge and decision-making responsibility were the main participants of this research project. Preliminary findings will be presented and summarised during the presentation. Qualitative data from semi-structured interviews were analysed using thematic analysis with NVivo. Quantitative data from the survey questionnaire were executed via Qualtrics and analysed in SPSS. Key recommendations to Policy makers are provided so that they can further develop their decarbonisation strategies for achieving Net Zero by 2034 in the region.
