Multi-media performance for fixed and interactive video, live electronics, electric and acoustic guitars, amplified violin, vocals and gestures.

(sweet-ERROR: miku) is a project by squib-box, examining the representation of body image, social behaviour, belief systems, and notions of malfunction in the digital realm. It stars jarringly oppositional characters that are mashed together into a syncretic melting pot of a J-pop inspired family-friendly stadium rock performance. Hatsune Miku is the most prominent of Japan’s ‘Vocaloid’ stars. Completely digital and more or less open source, she is powered by Yamaha voice synthesis software, and a range of animation programmes. John Kizito is a musical-theatre performer and actor with Cerebral Palsy, based in Croydon.

This performance was commissioned as part of an AHRC funded research network entitled "Music Composition as Interdisciplinary Performance".
