Abstract
Measurements of C-12+C-12 breakup of Mg-24 have been performed using targets containing carbon, oxygen, lithium, and beryllium. The excitation energy in Mg-24 was determined from the relative energy of the correlated C-12 fragments. The data provide the first evidence fur the C-12+C-12 breakup of Mg-24 populated via the O-16(Mg-24, (CC)-C-12-C-12)O-16 reaction.
