Abstract

While total hip replacement (THR) is generally accepted to be a successful intervention, little is known about the effectiveness of the rehabilitation services provided in connection with the procedure. The aims of this study were twofold. First, to describe the nature of the rehabilitation process for THR, including the respective roles of patients, carers and practitioners. Secondly, to examine patients' perspectives on the extent to which the rehabilitation provided met their individual needs and requirements.
