Abstract

The tripalladium cluster [Pd-3( mu(3)-CO)( mu-dppm)(3)](PF6)(2) (1) reacts with two equivalents of (BuCP)-Bu-t to give [Pd-3(mu-dppm)(3)(eta(1)-PCBut)(2)](PF6)(2) (2). Prolonged storage of acetone solutions of 2 only resulted in the isolation of [Pd-3(mu-dppm)(3)(eta(1):mu(3)-PCH2But)(OCMC2)](PF6)(2) (3). Compound 3 has been characterized by X-ray crystallography.
