Abstract
The transition from care into adulthood is a difficult step for any young person. International research has shown that young people leaving care have a high risk of social exclusion, both in terms of material disadvantage and marginalisation.
Young People's Transitions from Care to Adulthood is the first book to present an international perspective on the transition of young people leaving care into independent living. Its principle aim is to provide a clear explanation of outcomes for care leavers that will signpost key messages for practice worldwide.
Drawing on the research of leading academics from 16 countries, this is a wide - ranging and authoritative book that will give academics, practitioners and policymakers insight into effective service provision and how to effectively assist care leavers in their journey to adulthood.
