Biography

Dr Huw David Jones is a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the ‘Mediating Cultural Encounters through European Screens’ (MeCETES) project (www.mecetes.co.uk) based at the University of York. Prior to his current post, Huw worked at the Centre for Cultural Policy Research (CCPR), University of Glasgow, and the Centre for the Study of Media and Culture in Small Nations, University of South Wales. He has also worked as a temporary lecturer and teaching assistant at the Department of Geography, Swansea University. He has an MA in Cultural Geography from the Royal Holloway University of London and a PhD in Human Geography from Swansea University.

Research interests

Dr Huw David Jones' research focuses on contemporary European cinema. Combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods, his work focuses on trends in policy, production, distribution, representation, exhibition and audience reception.

He has previously conducted research on the history of Welsh visual culture and arts policy in Scotland and Wales
